The stats: 10 miles in 73 minutes
The story: My last run was so bad, I didn’t post it. It was an 84 minute 10-miler. My legs had not felt right since my 24-hour run. I had a couple of decent runs in Kentucky, but even in those runs I had to really push it to put in an OK time. I had felt even worse since getting back from Kentucky. Drained. Awkward. NikĀ convincedĀ me to take a full week off. I was true to my word. I decided to buy a new pair of shoes to help motivate me. I went with the Skechers GOruns. I read mixed reviews, but two things they all said was 1) they make you run on your fore/mid foot and 2) heel striking hurts. I confirm both of these things. I put in mediocre effort, but because of my form I made decent time. I’m a believer in the GOruns. Even split.
Glad to see that a break paid off for you. How many extra pounds do you have to play with?
